Rain and poor visibility wiped out the last Australian Grand Prix on the island, with no points awarded. With Martín injured, the leader lost a chance to stretch his lead, and the title is now one weekend away. The MotoGP race at Phillip Island was cancelled on 25 October 2026 because poor visibility grounded the medical helicopter; it was the last edition at that circuit, which gives way to a street track in Adelaide in 2027. Sunday awarded no points. On 24 October Marc Márquez won the sprint, Jorge Martín crashed on lap 8 with a fractured radius, and Márquez took the championship lead by 10 points.
